Giving awesome presents is Nana's superpower.

Chloe to Barb

Make it Pop Pop is the twenty-fourth episode of Season 4 of The Thundermans and the ninety-fifth episode overall. It first aired on February 24, 2018 to 1.09 million viewers.[1]

Plot

Summary

Nana and Pop Pop Thunderman come to visit, but when Phoebe reveals Colosso is living in their house, Pop-Pop's no-tolerance attitude toward supervillains leads him to banish Max and his bunny best friend to the Detention Zone.[2] Billy, Nora, and Chloe get ugly sweaters from Nana.

Main Plot

Hank's parents - Nana and Pop-Pop Thunderman - are coming to visit the Thundermans. Pop-Pop's superpowers are Flight and Super Strength like Hank while Nana's superpower is Kindness. She makes people become very kind with a little pinch on the cheek.

Whenever the grandparents are in town, the Thunder Kids act their best to please them. They also usually hide Dr. Colosso in Max's Lair because Pop-Pop doesn't tolerate villains at all. Phoebe makes sure that everything is perfect because she believes that she is Pop-Pop's favorite. Pop-Pop and Nana arrive, bringing presents to the kids. Max and Phoebe get bluetooth wireless headphones while Billy, Nora and Chloe get ugly sweaters. With the grandparents watching over the twins, Hank and Barb fly to Paris for lunch. Nana takes the little kids to Splatburger while Pop-Pop is left home with the Thunder Twins.

Phoebe is excited to hangout with Pop-Pop and hopefully this time he will finally teach her how to drop the thunder. Unfortunately, Pop-Pop seems more interested in talking to Max. He praises Max for turning good... and even for being the funny one. Phoebe becomes jealous and tries to get Pop-Pop's attention but it doesn't work out. When Pop-Pop leaves to take a nap, Phoebe tells Max that Pop-Pop wouldn't be so proud of him if he knew Max was hiding Dr. Colosso in his lair. Unfortunately, Pop-Pop hears it and is shocked that Dr. Colosso is living with the Thundermans. He turns into his superhero ego "Sergeant Thunder" and flies out to get a device that he would use on Dr. Colosso to send him to the Detention Zone.

When Hank and Barb return from Paris, the twins ask what the Detention Zone is. Hank tells them that the Detention Zone is a very bad, bad dimension where Pop-Pop usually sends supervillains to suffer. To save Colosso, Phoebe and Max come up with an idea to have him fly away in a tiny airplane before Sergeant Thunder returns. Unfortunately, Sergeant Thunder meets with Colosso's plane on the air and knocks it down, causing it to crash. To protect Dr. Colosso, Max tells Pop-Pop that Colosso is his friend. This changes everything, says Pop-Pop. Instead of just sending Dr. Colosso to the bad place, he sends Max there too.

Phoebe freaks out and starts begging Pop-Pop to bring Max back but he refuses. Sergeant Thunder insists that Max is a criminal for protecting a supervillain. Therefore, he has to stay in the Detention Zone until he's learned his lesson. Phoebe asks Pop-Pop if he's ever brought any villain back after learning their lesson but Pop-Pop says no. That means, Max might be gone forever. Phoebe can't afford to lose Max. She loves and cares about him. She must save him even if that means turning against someone she admires like Pop-Pop. She freezes Pop-Pop and takes his Detention Zone key and the device to zap herself into the Detention Zone.

In the Detention Zone, Phoebe finds Max, Colosso and other villains sitting in a room. There's a teacher called Lizzie teaching the villains the same lesson she teaches them everyday - How not to be a supervillain. Phoebe starts explaining to Max her plan of getting him out of there. But Lizzie notices them and takes away Phoebe's key using her lizard tongue. The twins try to explain to the teacher that there was a misunderstanding and that they're in fact superheroes and Sergeant Thunder's grandkids, but she refuses to believe them. To prove them wrong, she asks the villains in the room if they're all superheroes and if they're all Sergeant Thunder's grandkids. They all raise their hands, making it difficult for Phoebe and Max's argument. To punish the twins for being troublemakers in class, the teacher tells them to feed the class pet which is some sort of glowing monster.

On realizing that Max and Phoebe are in danger, Dr. Colosso starts puking some of the objects he's swallowed to help them prove that they're telling the truth. He vomits out a photo album and shows Lizzie a photo of Sergeant Thunder with Max and Phoebe. This convinces Lizzie that they were telling the truth. She agrees to let them go but asks them to tell Sergeant Thunder that she was nice to them. However, she refuses to let Dr. Colosso go because he is an actual villain. Luckily, Dr. Colosso sneaks past her and escapes through the portal.

Back at home, Phoebe unfreezes Pop-Pop and explains why she had to do that to save Max. She apologizes for being jealous that Max was now Pop-Pop's favorite but Pop-Pop explains that he doesn't have favorites. He was only trying to give Max some attention because Max only recently turned good and he doesn't want him to turn back to evil. The twins also explain that Dr. Colosso was ready to sacrifice his freedom to save them. They conclude that being around superheroes is rubbing off on Colosso.

Sergeant Thunder then shows the twins how to drop the thunder by demonstrating it on Dr. Colosso.

Sub Plot

While Pop-Pop is with the twins, Nana asks Nora, Billy and Chloe to meet her at Splatburger for lunch - and asks them to wear the sweaters she brought them. The kids don't want to wear the ugly sweaters and hurt her feelings. So, they agree to wear the sweaters just this once to make her happy. As the kids enter Splatburger, everyone starts laughing at them. So, they back out slowly. Nora comes up with a plan. She says that they should throw their sweaters in the trash bin; and lie to Nana that a bully took them. Chloe praises Nora for her brilliant plan, and says that's why Nora is their leader.

Nora's plan works perfectly and Nana is convinced that a bully stole their sweaters. To complicate things, Mrs. Wong finds the sweaters and puts them on. Nana sees her wearing the sweaters and concludes that Mrs. Wong is the bully. She goes to confront Mrs. Wong about it and Mrs. Wong responds with her usual rudeness, making it look like she's guilty. Mrs. Wong calls the Thunder kids smelly and makes fun of Nana. To teach Mrs. Wong a kindness lesson, Nana pinches her on the cheek. Mrs. Wong suddenly turns into a very nice person. She tells Nana and the kids that the food is free. In fact, she tells everyone in the restaurant that the food is free. Chloe teleports out to get her parents because she knows how much Hank loves free food.

Billy and Nora start to worry that Mrs. Wong is going to lose a lot of money by giving away free food. To make matters worse, Mrs. Wong even gives out her cash register to a customer with money in it since they've run out of plates. It gets worse when Mrs. Wong signs off the ownership of Splatburger to one of her waitresses. At that point, Nora and Billy beg Nana to change Mrs. Wong back. They admit that Mrs. Wong wasn’t the bully who stole their sweaters. There was no bully. They lied because they didn't like the sweaters. Nana understands and tells them that she should have known because she only thought the sweaters were good because her friend Myrtle told her so - and Myrtle's superpower is convincing people that they make great sweaters.

Nana agrees to turn Mrs. Wong back to normal - but decides to wait a few more minutes. But then, Mrs. Wong starts taking off her top to give it to a customer for being cold. At that point, Nana quickly changes Mrs. Wong back to her old self.

Chloe arrives with her parents hoping to get free food but Mrs. Wong rudely kicks them out.
