Dana Snyder is an American stand-up comedian, actor, producer, and voice artist, best known for playing Master Shake in Aqua Teen Hunger Force, and the film Aqua Teen Hunger Force Colon Movie Film for Theaters,[2] both part of Cartoon Network's Adult Swim franchise. He provided the voice (as well as human form; in A Hero Is Born) of Dr. Colosso on the Nickelodeon series The Thundermans. He is currently 50 years of age.


Early Life[]

Snyder was born in Allentown, Pennsylvania[3] on November 14, 1973 and grew up in Las Vegas, Nevada.[4] He credits Don Rickles, Rip Taylor, and Phil Silvers as childhood influences.[5] Snyder graduated from Las Vegas High School in 1992[6] and he graduated with a BFA from the Conservatory of Theatre Arts at Webster University, Missouri in 1996.[7][8]

Career[]

Voice acting[]

Snyder was hired to voice Master Shake on Aqua Teen Hunger Force,[9] without auditioning, based solely on his speaking voice during a phone call to Dave Willis.[10] Snyder also provided the voice of Gazpacho on Chowder, Todd and Benny Lee on the G4TV show Code Monkeys, "The Alchemist" on The Venture Bros., and Granny Cuyler on Squidbillies[11]. He also voices Leonard the Koala in The Penguins of Madagascar and plays a teacher named "Mr. Baldwin" on the Disney series Fish Hooks.[12][13] He played Alistair in Open Season 3.[14][15] Snyder provided the voices of Sam as well as Cold Fusion Reactor Dad on the web series Suicide by Side.[16][17] He also narrated the Adult Swim web series Sipes Stories that he co-produced with Andy Sipes. He has also starred on Adventure Time as The Wizard from the episode "Little Dude" in the fifth season. He also played the voice of Belcitane within the White Knight Chronicles, and the White Knight Chronicles II.[18]

Stage acting[]

On April 15, 2010, Snyder and Dave Willis went on a multi-city[19] tour called Dave & Dana: Stars of Aqua Teen!.[20][21][22] In June 2010, he appeared as Max Bialystock in the Lyceum Theatre's production of Mel Brooks' The Producers in Arrow Rock, Missouri.[23] In February and March 2011, he again played Max Bialystock in The Producers at the Riverside Theatre in Vero Beach Florida.[12] Snyder has also been seen in the Lyceum Theatre 2011 productions of Run For Your Wife,[24] Damn Yankees, and The Sound of Music[25] and has worked at several other United States regional theaters, including Repertory Theatre of St. Louis, Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park, and Cleveland Play House.[2] Snyder was also a guest performer during several performances of the Atlanta-based burlesque revue "Dames Aflame" in 2010 and 2012.[26]

Snyder has made guest appearances on ER,[27] Brothers and Sisters,[2] and Gary Unmarried.[28][29] Snyder also appeared in Saul of the Mole Men,[27][30] The Young Person's Guide to History[31], and Your Pretty Face is Going to Hell[32].He also guest appeared on the Christian live action TV show Come On Over.

Podcasts[]

Snyder co-hosts the Ken P.D. Snydecast with Ken "Plumey" Plume, which is a free podcast produced out of Plume's Fred Entertainment[33] The first episode of the show appeared on the internet on January 11, 2006.[34] The show was initially produced out of IGN[35] and is produced out of Fred Entertainment.[35] The show originally followed a "weekly" episode distribution [36] but has been more sporadic in later years.[34] In addition to Snyder and Plume, guests have included Doc Hammer, Paul Sabourin, and Jay Wade Edwards.[34] In late 2013, Dana began co-hosting the podcast Drunk on Disney[37] with Guy Hutchinson of ACPN,[38] and Bart Scott, author of Ears of Steel.[39] The podcast centers around Disney parks, Disney trips and Disney memories; all while the boys make a Disney-themed cocktail and literally try to get "Drunk on Disney".

He married Christine "Sweety" Snyder (born Ciccone) in August 2005.[1]
